Ernesto Ortegon is a 2nd Dan in the Martial Arts Style of Shorinkan Shorin Ryu and 2nd Dan Ryute.

He is a retired Army and Michigan Army National Guard Veteran.

Ortegon began his martial arts training in San Antonio, Texas in Kenpo while a teenager.

He married and moved to Michigan where he continued his training in Nakazato Shorin Ryu under Charles Peterson at his Lansing, Michigan Dojo. There Ortegon earned his 2nd Dan in 1997 at which time we started training in Ryute under Kiyoshi Peterson who was a 7 Dan under Seiyu Oyata in Ryute and trained in Ryute for 15 years and started under Seicichi Iha in Lansing in Shidokan Shorin Ryu Iha, a 10 Dan, who promoted Ortegon to a 2 Dan Rank in the Ryuha.

Ortegon is currently training in Howel Michigan under Sensie Samuel Larioza in Okinawon Goju Ryu in the Mario Higoana lineage.

“I look forward to learning and training in this great classical Martial Art,” Ortegon said. “I am always eager to meet and share stories with all martial artist and sharing and growing Martial Arts as whole.”
