Close Combat Magazine had a chance to catch up with Christopher Shultz, Waverly High’s varsity wrestler in the 150 boys varsity division representing. Here is what he had to say in Meet the Warriors Q&A:
Q: Why did you get into wrestling?
A: I got into wrestling to build the body control needed for pole vault.
Q: What do you love most about wrestling?
A: The thing I love most about wrestling, or any sport, is my team.
Q: Who is your favorite wrestler?
A: Cayden Bell
Q: Who is the greatest wrestler of all time?
A: Spencer Lee

Q: What is your best memory on the wrestling team?
A: Winning a match at the Mooney wrestling tournament.
Q: Who has helped you become the wrestler you are today?
A: Matthiew Pierre, Logan Lee and Thaddeus Overly.
Q: Do you recommend wrestling to others, why or why not?
A: I recommend wrestling to anyone because it is a great experience that can teach anyone to be as healthy as they possibly can.
Q: What do you like most about being on the wrestling team?
A: I enjoy going to competitions, even when I am not competing there is such a joyous atmosphere about the whole event.
Q: How do you prepare for your next match?
A: I prepare for each match by putting headphones in and running until I am called up.
Q: What is your goal for this wrestling season?
A: My goal for this wrestling season is to wrestle at States.
Q: What is one of your goals for after high school?
A: I hope to run track for MSU after I graduate high school.
Q: What is your favorite classroom subject?
A: My favorite subject is AP Physics.
Q: What is your dream school/university?
A: My dream school is the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.
Q: What is your favorite food?
A: My favorite food is pasta.
Q: What is your favorite song/music artist?
A: My favorite music artist is Panic! At the Disco.
Q: What actor would play you in a Hollywood movie?
A: Ryan Reynolds
