Close Combat Magazine had a chance to catch up with Joshua Tucker Lansing Sexton’s wrestler in the 215 pound division. Here is what he had to say about his wrestling experience. Meet the J-Dubbs Q&A:

Q: Why did you get into wrestling?

A: My dad brought me into wrestling. 

Q: What do you love most about wrestling?

A: The new people you meet, that become family. 

Q: Who is your favorite wrestler?

A: Gable Stevenson 

Q: Who is the greatest wrestler of all time?

A: Dan Gable 

Q: What is your best memory on the wrestling team?

A: Winning my first varsity match.

Q: Who has helped you become the wrestler you are today?

A: My Dad

Q: Do you recommend wrestling to others, why or why not?

A: Yes, because you get to meet new people and they soon become your family. And the better you get, the more matches you will win. The more matches you win, more offers you will get to wrestle at the next level.

Q: What do you like most about being on the wrestling team?

A: My coaches, teammates, the awesome gear, and the support I get from my school!

Q: How do you prepare for your next match?

A: Listen to music, shadow wrestling, and mental preparation.

Q: What is your goal for this wrestling season?

A: Make it to Districts.

Q: What is one of your goals for after high school?

A: Be accepted to a 4 year university!

Q: What is your favorite classroom subject?

A: Earth Science
