Close Combat Magazine had a chance to catch up with Niragira Jacques, Lansing Eastern’s senior varsity wrestler in the 126 pound division representing Eastern’s finest. Here is what he had to say:
Q: Why did you get into wrestling?
A: I first got into wrestling because a friend of mine was involved with the sport.
Q: What do you love most about wrestling?
A: The funny and exciting moments that the sport provides.
Q: Who is your favorite wrestler?

Q: Who is the greatest wrestler of all time?
A: Jordan Burroughs
Q: What is your best memory on the wrestling team?
A: All the laughs we would have after and during tournaments.
Q: Who has helped you become the wrestler you are today?
A: All my coaches. AP, Matt, Gladstone, Diego, Laz and so many more people that if I named it would take hours.
Q: Do you recommend wrestling to others, why or why not?
A: Yes, of course. Wrestling teaches you how to mature and provides a bunch of important life lessons.
Q: What do you like most about being on the wrestling team?
A: The love that the whole team shares for each other.
Q: How do you prepare for your next match?
A: I walk around and warm up get prepared to wrestle.
Q: What is your goal for this wrestling season?
A: State tournament qualifier.
Q: What is one of your goals for after high school?
A: Firefighting

A: History

A: Penn State
